Record your train sounds:
Think that you are playing with train toys. What does your train sound like? Feel free to use your own language and personal train sounds in your recording.
Keep doing your train sounds for some time. Maximum length is 90 seconds. Please record only train sounds, no other words. After recording, press the Send-button. For best sound quality, make the recording in a quiet space. You can also use a microphone or a headset, if you have one. The sound you donate will be used for a public art work that is coming to Tierp train station in 2021. Your voice will be treated with confidentiality. You do not need to give your name or email address, but if you do, your name or email address will not be published anywhere, you will remain anonymous. By recording your voice you give your concent to using your voice in the artwork. The sounds can be used also in video recordings of the art work, if such are made for news purposes or for promoting the art work. Thank you very much for your valuable help in making the art work! |

History of Tierp Station
Station photographed before year 1900.
|
The station building in Tierp was built in connection with the construction of a new railway between Uppsala and Gävle in 1874. The railway and the station made Tierp a station community. The community grew and in 1920 Tierp's market town was formed.
Today, the house is no longer used for travelers but has tenants in the form of e.g. a pizzeria and a hair salon. The station building has been rebuilt several times during its history. With the latest renovation 2019-2020 the wall panelling was installed and the station has regained its old color scheme. Station at 1970s.

Station at around 1920.
